Bereavement Support
Every baby matters. Every story matters. Every family deserves support.
What does Bereavement Support mean?
The loss of a pregnancy or baby can feel overwhelming, isolating and deeply disorienting.
During these moments, families are often asked to make difficult decisions while processing shock, grief and uncertainty.
As a bereavement doula, I provide compassionate emotional support alongside practical guidance, helping families navigate the hours, days and weeks following pregnancy loss, stillbirth or infant loss.
Support may include:
• Emotional support and a calm, non-judgmental presence
• Guidance during hospital admissions and medical appointments
• Information about available options and resources
• Support with communication and decision-making
• Creating memories and meaningful keepsakes when desired
• Birth support during loss and induction of labour
• Postpartum support and grief processing
• Support for partners and other family members
• Referrals to additional professional services when appropriate
Every family's experience is unique.
There is no right way to grieve, no timeline to follow, and no expectation to navigate this journey alone.
My role is to provide information, support and steady presence while honouring your baby's story and your family's individual needs.
Navigating Loss Within the Healthcare System
When loss occurs, families are often faced with unfamiliar medical processes, paperwork, decisions and conversations they never expected to have.
I help families understand what to expect, prepare questions for healthcare providers, navigate available options, and feel more supported within the healthcare system during an exceptionally difficult time.
While I do not provide medical care or advice, I can help families better understand information provided by their healthcare team and feel less alone as they move through the process.
What would feel most supportive right now?
You do not have to know exactly what you need before reaching out.
Our first conversation is simply an opportunity to connect, explore what feels most supportive right now, and see whether this kind of support resonates with you and your family.

A note from Susie:
“As a mother of three who has navigated pregnancy and birth abroad myself, I understand how overwhelming it can feel to prepare for birth far from home.
My hope is that every family who visits this space leaves feeling a little more informed, a little more confident, and a little less alone.”
